The Essence of a Good Text
When we read a text we would also like to be able to understand it.
It sounds simple but that’s not always the case.
How often have you read an instruction manual and wondered what the author really meant to say? And of course you have probably chuckled a bit at the examples of the translations you may have seen while on vacation in a foreign country.
When translating, it is not simply a matter of changing a text word for word, but actually conveying the culturally and linguistically influenced meaning that lies behind the words.
The focus here, is on the reader. They should be able to easily read and understand a translation just as if it had been written in their native language. This is my number one priority when it comes to the translation of your text.
